This initiative brought together experts, companies, and students to discuss and explore innovative solutions for a more sustainable future.

What was the Environmental Engineering Journey?

The Environmental Engineering Journey is an annual event that fosters knowledge exchange between academia and the business sector, encouraging the development of more sustainable practices in energy, mobility, environmental management, and technological innovation. With a diverse program including lectures, workshops, and discussion panels, this journey provided a unique opportunity to learn about industry trends and establish strategic partnerships.

Sustainable mobility as a key element for the future

Maria Bike and Ecomood Portugal shared their vision of electric and active mobility as a fundamental solution for building more efficient and eco-friendly cities.

Maria Bike, known for its innovative approach to electric micromobility, stood out with its development of pedal-free electric vehicles that offer a practical and sustainable alternative for urban commuting. The brand's mission is to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, contributing to a lower carbon footprint and a cleaner urban environment.

Meanwhile, Ecomood Portugal is a benchmark in promoting sustainable mobility, encouraging the adoption of eco-friendly solutions in everyday life. Its presence at this event reinforced the importance of cooperation among different industry players to accelerate the transition to a more responsible mobility model.

Sustainable Mobility and Positive Environmental Impact

Last Saturday, February 8, 2025, Maria Bike took an active part in the ‘Limpar de Bicla Especial’ event, organised by EcoMood Portugal. The initiative, which celebrated World Environmental Education Day, consisted of a bike ride from Belém to Santa Iria de Azóia, along the Tagus Walkways, with the aim of promoting sustainable mobility and environmental awareness by collecting waste along the way.

The event had the collaboration of various organisations, including UNFUEL, Happy Trails Portugal, the Santa Iria de Azóia, São João da Talha and Bobadela Parish Council, Lisboa Possível, Pedalar Sem Idade Portugal and Juventude Lixo Zero Portugal.

Maria Bike's participation stood out for its use of electric vehicles, which provided an ecological and efficient alternative for the participants.

Along the way, cyclists had the opportunity to enjoy the landscapes along the Tagus river while helping to clean up the environment by collecting waste found along the way. The initiative reinforced the importance of active mobility and environmental responsibility, in line with EcoMood Portugal's objectives of promoting more sustainable behaviour in society.

Maria Bike, committed to sustainability and innovation in urban mobility, was pleased to collaborate in this event, reinforcing its mission to offer ecological and efficient transport solutions for Portuguese cities.
